Why We’re Not Meant to Carry It Alone (Finding Comfort When You’re Overwhelmed)

Why We’re Not Meant to Carry It Alone (Finding Comfort When You’re Overwhelmed)

Today, I cried.

Raine, my 6-year-old daughter, looked at me, paused for a moment, and softly said, "I’m sorry," before giving me a hug. She had nothing to do with why I was crying. She didn’t understand the reason—and she didn’t need to. She just knew I needed comfort.

Today, I felt mentally tired. It was just one of those days.

Most days, I feel happy, excited and grateful. But you can’t be at 100% all the time—no one can. Today was one of those days when everything felt heavier than usual. The kind of day where your mind is full, your heart is tired, and even simple things feel like too much.

And that’s okay.

It’s okay to not be okay.

On days like this, you don’t need answers. You don’t need someone to fix things or tell you what to do next. You just need someone to be there—to sit with you, to listen, give you a hug, and to remind you that what you’re feeling is valid.

This is why having a spiritual community to lean on is so important.

Earlier today, I was on a call with one of my good friends and part of our bible study group—someone I also consult with in business. He said something simple, but powerful: "It’s okay to feel what you’re feeling right now. I’ve gone through this in my own journey. We’ll figure it out."

I didn’t even share with him how I was feeling, exactly. We were talking about business but I guess how I was feeling in that moment shone thru.

He didn’t have all the answers. But hearing the words "It’s okay. We’ll figure this out" lifted something in me.

Sometimes, that’s all we really need.

And if today feels heavy for you too, let this be your reminder: you don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to be strong all the time. You don’t have to rush yourself back to being "okay."

Rest when you need to. Cry if you must. Lean on the people who remind you of who you are when you forget.

Tomorrow will come with new strength, new clarity, and new grace. For now, this moment is enough.

You are not alone. And we will figure it out—together. 💛
