Your Past Does Not Define Your Future

Your Past Does Not Define Your Future

When I was in college (Silliman U.), I tried to get into 2 school orgs and failed. I couldn’t get past the interview portion. I was so nervous I couldn’t even answer the questions well. Whenever I needed to speak in front of the class, I would do it as fast as I could just so the ordeal would end. Growing up, public speaking was always something I dreaded.

Fast forward 13 years later, who would have thought I’d make a career out of sales and be actually effective at it? Plus, I also joined Toastmasters International, a public speaking organization, and got to compete and even win in 2 categories on the national level.

What I realized is this:

Your past does not define your future. Your "failures" are not permanent.

It doesn’t matter how many times you failed in the past. What matters is you get up and continue moving forward.

Yes. Failure is painful but it’s not the end of it. There’s always another day. You can always write another chapter and turn your story around.

What’s important is you believe in yourself and trust in God’s timing.

What about you? What past "failures" are holding you back from unleashing your potential?

Please do share your story so we can also be inspired. The best thing we can do for others especially at this time is to encourage others to be all that they can be 🧡
